The Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP) is designed to help you develop a plan for a thriving, profitable business. In this program, you will learn to identify customers, determine their needs, and analyze that information to develop a feasible plan for starting or growing your business.

    You will learn to:

  • Organize and better manage your business.
  • Identify opportunities and market your business.
  • Understand financials: costs, revenue streams, profits margins, and cashflow for your business.
  • Learn the process to obtain funding for your business.
  • Complete a business plan workbook that can become the foundation for a full business plan.
  • Connect with other entrepreneurs.
  • Develop a network of small business support services.
  • Receive confidential one-on-one consulting

Through instruction and guest speakers, the course serves those entrepreneurs who are considering starting a business, owners of existing businesses that want to get a handle on all the details, and those owners with successful companies they want to grow.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) will offer qualified applicants an Entrepreneur Training Grant* that covers 75% of the $1,000 course fee, reducing the cost to $250. Additionally, Progress Lakeshore has a limited number of $200 Bank First Scholarships*, bringing your cost to $50!

Both the WEDC Grant and the Bank First Scholarship require participants to apply, complete the class, and complete a business plan workbook within 90 days of completing the course. Participants who accept these funding opportunities but do not complete the class will be responsible for the entire course fee of $1,000.
